The Cathy Freeman Foundation is proud to celebrate and congratulate the first male student to graduate from his remote island school in Wurrumiyanga on the Tiwi Islands. A remarkable achievement for a community that only two years earlier celebrated the first student to graduate with a Northern Territory Certificate of Education (NTCET).

Diarne* lives in the remote community of Wurrumiyanga in the Tiwi Islands. She is one of six siblings and is currently working hard to graduate from Year 12 this year. She is one of three students set to graduate in 2018 in Wurrumiyanga and will be celebrated by her entire community!

Rhys* is in Year 11 at Xavier Catholic College in Wurrumiyanga on the Tiwi Islands.
