WHAT IS 'STRIDE FOR EDUCATION?'
The Cathy Freeman Foundation is delighted to bring to you our inaugural virtual running event -Stride for Education.
The challenge is to run, walk or wheel 115 kilometres between October 10 and November 10. This target is the average distance between our partner communities and their nearest major town. It works out to be less than 4 kilometres of movement a day if you are aiming to hit that target!
Don’t want to stride the full 115 kilometres alone? Team up with your friends, classmates or colleagues and smash this goal out together. Alternatively, set yourself a different distance target. This challenge is for all fitness levels and all abilities. Every kilometre you clock up contributes and is a stride closer to supporting kids to realise their goals through our education programs.
In collaboration with Running Heroes the aim of Stride for Education is to increase awareness and raise funds to support the work of the Foundation within the communities.

HOW DO I GET SPONSORS?
The Cathy Freeman Foundation is proud to have achieved such amazing results in our partner communities over the past 13 years and we are extremely excited about the possibilities that lay ahead. But put simply, we cannot continue to positively influence the lives of thousands of Indigenous students without support from people like you!
We know that fundraising can be difficult so here is how you can get started:
Email your family, closest friends and colleagues: Send an email to the closest people in your life telling them about the great thing that you are doing by running in support of Indigenous education. Simply include the link to your Everyday Hero page so that they can donate directly to your personal page.
Post on your social media channels: Tell everybody that you're passionate about participating in #StrideForEducation. You can post your Everyday Hero page URL on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn. Your fundraising page will still be active after the event so remember to include your fundraising page URL on any photos that you post after you have finished the event!
