Jade Colgan - CEO

Jade Is a Barkindji Woman, of the Barkindji people of NSW.

 

She was born and raised in Melbourne, and is a mother of four. She sees herself as someone with a lot of passion and energy to give to the things she believes in. She likes to challenge herself and always tries to think big and ahead of the curve where possible. 

Jade commenced as CEO in August of 2018, since then the Foundation has set a new strategic direction and strategy, further built teams, deepened programs and made inroads in respect of financial sustainability.

In her time before the Foundation, Jade held roles at AFL SportsReady (AFLSR) as Executive Manager of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Programs, the Victorian Department of Justice where she was able to put to work her skills and knowledge gained from her time as the inaugural State Coordinator of the Victorian Indigenous Youth Advisory Council, now known as the Koorie Youth Council. 

She has a proven and strong record of Strategy, Management and Leadership oversight and delivery. Jade brings expertise in Business Development and Key Stakeholder Relations, as well as Contract Management expertise. 

She has developed and delivered Reconciliation Action Plans (RAP’s), Community Engagement Frameworks and Strategies. 

Jade is passionate about the dreams and pathways of young First Nations people, about communities and about education. She knows it is the key to a brighter future and knows that culture, family & pride need to go hand in hand with education and lifelong learning.
